you need to do more proper fishing for wild fish so you can learn the fine arts of hunting and gathering, then you will realize how easy pond fishing is .................................................. ...lol

Re: Team scores at 3/4 way

LOL - hadn't realised how much "them and us" there is on here between sea and fresh

With 42 points from each section, we are sitting on the fence (although we've just had an extra fish from the sea)

Like the rusties, we are running out of species, but one or two cunning plans are in our pipeline, as no doubt in theirs too.

I would like to see both the two leading teams go over the "ton" this year - and some of the others have a few "easy" species left, so could well catch up.

Re: Team scores at 3/4 way

Instead of ""wild Fish" and "tame fish' surely that should read "gullible never seen a hook/bait/lure before salty fool fish" and "wise old experienced, you'll have to be a real expert to catch me freshwater fish"

Re: Team scores at 3/4 way

imho,
'salty fool fish' are often prone to sod off 20 -30 mile away or more , predicting where they'll be is the difficult bit, where as the ' tame fish' are usually in the same lake or river they were b4, getting them to feed or take a bait is the difficult bit .

dark side fishys- you know they're there , but will they take a bait?.

salty fishys - you know they're likely to take a bait, but are they there?

seems an even chance to me

In all honesty there are easy fish to be had in both salt and fresh water. Your average muddy pool stocked with carp and silver fish is pretty easy, while big pits with a small head of big fish can be very very hard, as can finding quality barbel or Pike on the Severn or similar river. At sea it's perfectly possible to sit in a boat and pull up decent fish all day if your above the right wreck and to be fair the easiest fish in the world to catch is a mackerel as long as you can find them. Shore caught Bass - takes a genius...heck..it's all in good fun but there's skillful fishing and easy fishing on both sides of the divide (freshwater anglers do smell better though as we don't have to wear "Eau de lugworm")

LOL you should try some of my special Eau de Cheesepaste once it's festered in the bottom of my tacklebox for 18 months....
