im off to black rock near clevedon this afternoon low water to try to get some points in the speices race.
not very good local reports though

i got there at 2 pm after a 20 minute hike unfortunately i had to wear my flotation suit as my bag was filled up with tackle and grub the sun was shinning whitch made me rather hot it was a battle to get there.
i will start with the buisness end first
i used a pully rig with a 5 oz weight to allow for the famous bristol channel strong currents baited up with rag and blacklug cocktails tipped with squid.
i got there about 2 and a half hours before low water i casted out put my rod on the rod rest before i had a chance to sit down the rod started to dance i struck and had a 4 lb coddling next bite was about an hour from low whitch turned out to be a 2 lb coddling the next one was just after low whitch was under a pound followed by my last one 2 hours up that one was about a pound all fish were safely returned but it was a very enjoyable session
black rock is a venue that you have to treat with caution because it is a low water mark and you cant see the tide come in behind you due to a reef behind
