Re: River Tamar

Its a top area mate, you should get a few bass, and maybe a ray or two, good luck whatever you do, I used to get a good few dab off of pottery quay, devonport side of the ferry, whether they're still about i don't know.

Re: River Tamar

Slapton/beesands/hallsands used to be the kiddies mate, but i'm afraid our friends the trawlers have put paid to that particular avenue of pleasure for us!
Like i said pottery quay used to be good, not sure if you can fish off of there now tho, North corner may be worth a shot, i,ve had cod off of there in the past. I'd stick a flapper with size 4 sakuma manta's and little worm baits out and see what turns up! And if you fish a second rod a nice big peeler bait slung fairly close in, or a live pout could bring a nice bass or thornie

Re: River Tamar

Not from there mate, but lived in Torpoint for 20 years! Used to fish Whitsands Polhawne etc, still go and fish for bass now and again, had quite a few fish in the 2 to 4lb class late last year, hopefully they'll be bigger this year!!! Live in Kingsteignton now, so relatively easy to get to most places!!
