Help!!

Hi Folks,

have only recently started sea fishing and havent had much luck is their anyone out their who can help with catching a decent sized fish all i have been catching is doggies and c==p like that.

also my multiplier seems to stop in mid cast effctively snapping my line any suggestions

HI Shane.

You live in a good part of the country for fishing.
Perhaps you should try the Tamar for some of the big Thornback Rays that frequent that area. Live prawn is a great bait for them as is sandeel.

What type of multiplier are you using? You may need to add extra brake blocks to it or if it has magnetic brakes then just put them on to full power until you learnt to control the reel more.
If you just lightly feather the side of the spool as the weight reaches its peak it should help stop the line lifting as the spool slows down.

Plenty of good rock fishing down that way, float fish a small hardback crab or ragworm for wrasse or try spinning with a 10cm orange or black redgill eel for pollack, bass, garfish or mackies in summer. Brilliant fun.
