Brean Fishing?

Hi,
Does anybody have good advice on fishing at Brean? I fish there reguarly but with very little luck. Thanks!

Hello mate,

There was a very good article on fishing Brean Down in last months Sea Angler I think. Fished there recently and got caught in that wicked thunderstorm and lightning.

Anyway all I can say is its a bloomin hard walk up the steps to the top and a hike over the cliff to get to some good marks. The guys next to us had already had 3 rays all about 8LB and the boats fished just off Brean Down the following day with great success.

Heard that its meant to be a good mark for codling in the spring but other than that Im not sure what you get this time of year. Best bet is to ask a local tackle shop.

Bait they were using was peeler crabs - we were using both crabs and worm baits with squid and had nothing except one decent conger !! The tide had just changed and we were set for a decent nights fishing until that poxy strom blew us away - impressive storm mind !!!

The peelers were all brought from one of the local tackle shops - not sure which one as I didnt get them but they shuld still have them in mate.
