Re: gilt head bream

i wouldnt be suprised if it has been broken. They seem to be everywhere at the moment, and what loverrrrrly fish too!!

I dont think it would be with a fish of 8lbs 8oz as the british record is :

Boat: 9lbs 15oz 8drams

Shore: 10lbs 5oz 8drams

Cool Re: gilt head bream

I think it may have something to do with the water around our shores warming up. It seems that cold water species are moving further north and warm water species are dioing the same. These Giltheads have been coming into our Estuaries for some time but in smaller numbers, some may even come here to breed now.

As with other species of fish they will come back year after year if they breed here.
