Dawlish any good?

Hey,
I live in Exeter, and need to find some local(ish) shore fishing spots.

Had a little prowl around Dawlish at the weekend, looks like it might be worth trying off the wall atthe far end of the beach? Just not sure wht the action's like around there?

Feel free to point me somewhere else if theres good spots to be had?

Cheers to Simon @ www.torbayfishing.com for pointing me this way for some advice.

Cheers

Re: Dawlish any good?

Welcome,
Went to Dawlish warren a couple week's ago fished on the little beach next to red rock but blanked i was only spinning though i read somewhere that if you carry on pass here to the 3rd set of steps in front the caravan park that you might get some bass there (mind the trains when casting though ) you could try spinning along here it did'nt seem rough enough when i went. Might try it again this week i'll let you know how i get on.

Re: Dawlish any good?

HI PENNIE AND WELCOME.

DAWLISH IS OK BUT KEEP CLEAR OF THE MAIN BREAKWALL(INFRONT OF THE VIADUCT) TOO MANY TINSEL CHUKERS AND GROCLES. ANY WHERE FROM COATGUARDS(SMALLER BREAKWALL AT THE END OF THE STATION TO LANGSTONE CLIFF(SOME PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT TRUE LOCALS CALL IT RED ROCK) AND AROUND THE CORNER TO DAWLISH WARREN. MACKEREL, GARFISH, BASS, FLOUNDER, PLAICE AND A FEW OTHER SPECIES. HOPE THIS HELPS IF YOU NEED ANY MORE INFO GIVE ME A SHOUT.

Re: Dawlish any good?

I'm local to Dawlish too, but not tried anywhere local yet for fishing. Been to the Teign a couple of times, and down to the Brixham breakwater.

Would love to try some much more local spots sometime though!
