Macky munching meet!!!

so there we were (me and POPLO), catching mackeral as if the sea was made of them and we saw a group of welsh guys light a couple of bbq's and break out the cans and they continued to have a good laugh, munch some fresh mackeral and empty a few cans, and we thought it would be great if we had some mates down and have a BBQ of our own.

so this is the proposal guys (and girls )

we all go down berry head armed with BBQ's, drinks and other food for those who dont like macky, oh, and fishing gear of course and we have a nice BBQ meet!

if this all sounds good then all we have to do is sort out a date, the sooner the better as far as i am concerned (except next weekend).

so what is everyones opinion on this delicious idea???
some extra ideas would be muchly appreciated as well!!!

All last year I wanted to grab a throw away BBQ and eat some mackerel as it came out of the water but I kept forgetting. This year I'm going to have to stock up on a few and do it.

I'm up for it (be fishing again soon WOOT!!)

yup i did it last year on oddicombe and gasworks beach! it works a treat

and providing i get the day off i would be up for it again

great that you think it is a good idea but what about dates?
im pretty flexible with exam leave and half term coming up, but as it is within the next few weeks would be best, i have got fieldwork in wales coming up as well as another expedition training weekend!!!

any suggestions would be good!

ok then, if i am arranging it, some proposed dates would be these, there are a lot of them but we can narrow them down as people say they cant do certain dates:

-21st/22nd may
-any day between 24th may and 5th june
-all weekends thereafter except 25th/26th may and 2nd/3rd june

i will post more specific dates later when i have a look at tides ETC.

ok then, checked tides and have decided on saturday the 21st
high tide: 5:27PM
sunset: 9:03PM

if everyone just comes down when they want and then we light the BBQ's whenever someone gets hungry.

if there are any objections to the date, speak now please.
