Hi, can anyone give me a few tips as to where to fish around Barnstaple. Will be down there this weekend. Looking at the Google maps looks like just west of Westward Ho looks quite promising but I seem to remember as a kid the water completely disapears from there at low tide.

Re: Barnstaple way The coast west of ho to clovelly is good spinning territory and can be fished high or low water but involves some effort and risk. Bubble float also a good method at the estuary mouth at high water. Fremington quay also worth a look as is baggey point near croyd. So many marks so little time. Summerlands tackle in ho good for bait and info

Re: Barnstaple way I am down for a festival but was hoping to get a bit of fishing done between music and beer!! Looks like the weather is going to be rank! If I remeber rightly there is no problem with sinking mud spots on Westwood Ho beach? Just have to remember to look around all the time. Was on the beach as a kid and my mates thought it would be a good idea to bury up to my neck, then ran off -with an incoing tide. Some guy managed to dig me out and save my ass!!

Re: Barnstaple way We are off to a Didgeridoo festival, one of four in the year. Always good fun! It is at Tapeley Park at Mad Hectors house. Thought I would try to get a bit of line dangling done at the same time. Probably be so hungover that I won,t get my butt out of bed!!
