| Re: Wrasse fishing in torbay: spots to treasure!!! hey dude's (dont mind u giving the spots away by the way Chubb, all fishermen and women should share and share alike OR summet along those lines.) so any way when were out galavanting on the moors last saturday i was missioning down to Elbery cove and i saw an old guy float fishing from that castle thingy and asked him what he was after, he said wrass as every where else in the bay is dead for them, and according to him there have been some pretty big wass caught off here in the past, when all speed boats ETC have gone. strangely he wouldent tell me what bait was used and he looked like that old bloke from goodrington this sumer (Bob). So if your up for it we should check it out some time. He also said that if u want some "hauge" wrass that the rocks coming out from the little bays all the way along and round to Brixham would be a good place 2 try. but i aint so sure.. ssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee yyyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaa POPLO ![]() __________________ One day, possibly some day soon ill catch that big Bass, and when i do ill cook it for all but you. | you would think that it is inaccessible but me and poplo have a knack of getting on to spots that no-one else can get to, and it is all thanks to roving experiences. one day we were getting bored fishing at goodrington on the promenade so we climbed over the railing and went rock hopping around towards the harbour, had a few hairy moments when i almost fell over backwards when we were wading in water so deep that we had to hold our tackle bags over our heads! that kind of thing is excelent for finding wrasse holes/spots, that day we found one that is half way round between the harbour and the promenade that is right on the tip of the headland. also found a way to access it from the coastal path on top of the cliff aswell! |

| Re: Wrasse fishing in torbay: spots to treasure!!! Know what your saying Chubb but us old blokes have done that and been there before you were a twinckle in you fathers eye. Did you know that there are 3 large war ships wrecks just off of there, easily reachable by divers. wreck 1....T-189 German torpedo boat destroyer wreck 2....S-24 another German torpedo boat infact it was in tow by the above wreck 3....HMS Savage 144 tons driven ashore in 1762 by an easterly gale All the above lay in about 9mtrs and 250yrds south of fairy cove. At low water you can still see a bit of one of the wrecks sticking out the water between roundham head and fairy cove. |
