Fishing the St.Just area

Moved here in Jan 2010 (during the snows!) and have been fishing the coastline since March time, primarily harbours but the occational beaches are not out of bounds.

I'm actually looking for a rock hopping buddy to give me some advice and possible marks in the immediate area (St.Just, Cape Cornwall, Cot Valley, Pendeen) where I could catch myself some descent eating fish.

Paddy,

Try Gurnards Head just round from the Cape. I remember taking 43 good sized pollock from there with my old man years ago. The bottom is quite rough so you will have to use a float at a suitable depth.

It's a bit of a trek to get to and not for the faint hearted but should reward you.

Good luck.

Not tried the Gurnards Head yet but it's one place I've been planning on going so thanks for the suggestion, I'm hopinh to get out for a dangle sometime this months but the weather hasn't been kind to us so far and with 47mph gusts last night I doubt I'll be going any time soon.
