newbie to the area

hi chaps,weve just moved to cornwall from newcastle,i havent got a clue of any fishing spots around these parts or what fish there is to catch,any info on areas,popular fish,best rigs would be greatly appreciated,thanks very much fellas in advance.

forgot to say the area in cornwall im now living is northlew just outside okehampton,aS IVE NOW FOUND OUT TO BE ONE OF THE WETTEST PARTS OF CORNWALL

Between Croyd and Baggy point enough fishing to last a life time. Peeler crab seems to be the bait. I have found low water easier to fish. Be aware of 8 metre tides it is easy to get cut off on some of the beaches and quicksand always a possibility good luck

hello mutley,thanks alot for the info matey,would i be right in thinking id find wrasse,pollock,bass,coalies,cod in winter around these parts? cheers mate

Been mainly concentrating on bass lately but most species possible smoothound mullet wrasse pollock codling mackerel dogfish flounder in estuaries and who knows what else beware the silver tourist you need a licence for them

excellent nice change from mainly cod and flatties up north mate well if i catch that is,sorry mate dont know what the silver tourist is? ive found croyde but not sure where baggy point is mate,is it the large rocky point just south of croyde,been on google earth

Silver tourist are sea trout and salmon who sometimes appear when spinning. Baggy is by croyde an appology in order meant to say Clovelly to baggy on original reply

,went to croyde for a 10 hr session on wed and blanked,met paul the rookie who gave me some cracking advice cheers paul nice to meet you,looking at going out this week maybe teignmouth?
