Re: Best catches in and near Torbay

Two cracking Bass from Hairy Ledge some 13 years ago.One was 5 1/2LB and the other 6 1/2LB.
Both on ledgered frozen sandeel. first rod went and as i was landing that one some 20ft below, the other rod was bouncing out the tripod.

Very remeberable day that was, never had a day like it since.

nice! wouldnt mind catching some decent bass myself this year. i was fishing sandeel on a surf beach a few years ago in cornwall with frozen sandeel and got one hell of a bite, even got to see the big brute through the foam but it actually managed to snap my 45lb shockleader!!!!!!!
my best since was about 1lb when floating for mackerel off goodrington promenade.

Re: Best catches in and near Torbay

What do you mean "not to any size" are you mad!!!!!
My diggest Bass was 6 1/2lb and that took all my life to catch.
Those Bass were about 15 years old, only just a few years younger than you.
I would consider these Bass to be a very good size, especially from the shore.
