After my first bass

Well, as I continue to expand my fishing horizons I've decided to go after bass. From reading up on the internet it seems they like rocky areas and sand eel or lug seem to be the best baits.

I'm after some practical advice about what rig will have the best result and am I right about my assumptions above. Someone told me live sand eel with a clear float would nab them and night time was the best period to catch bass.
