to be honest i like using the good old fashioned baits. ledgered sanddel and peeler crab does the trick for me! had 1 on ragworm too. they were not as big as i hoped. they wereall around the 1 and a half pound mark, so i jus let them go

I ALMOST GOT EATEN OFF THE COAST OF CORNWALL IN MY BOAT!!! WAS ENOURMOUS!!! DAMN THING TOOK MY LEG OFF! LUCKLY MY SEA SCOUNDREL MATES MANAGED TO HAUL THE FISH AND THE REST OF ME ABOURD!

HEY THEY GANG,
I HAVE JUST MOVED TO BUDE (WELL 6 MONTHS AGO AND HAD TO TAKE UP FISHING INIT)
and have done rather well for a novice,last weds at 1 hour befor low tide i went out for a hour and on northcote and caught a nice bass and a small eyed ray , which i returned the ray and ate the bass(mmmmmmmmmm) on sand eel (frozen)
and i,ve fished the breakwater abit great fun ,

well done mate! yet another person catching bass on frozen eel! its my favourite way, and it has yet to fail me! how big was the bass?
