Blue Anchor again Saturday 11th

Couldn't resist it so had another go this morning. Left home about 7am and drove the 30 or so miles to BA. You'd think I'd driven 300 miles. I left a relatively quiet mild morning and arrived to find a very strong and cold wind blowing up the channel. It was so strong it blew one of my rods over before I tied them both to the rail.
The pattern was almost identical to yesterday very little happening up to high tide then both rods knocking virtually non stop for the next hour. Not quite such a good result:
4 small Whiting (4 - 6 ozs) A passer-by said they were Channel Whiting because they were quite long but thin. I'm afraid I didn't know there was a particular Bristol Channel variety so I'm sorry if my earlier posts have misled anyone.
1 small Dogfish ( less than 2lb).
Can't see me getting out again this weekend so best of luck to all who do.

Channel whiting is just a big whiting. On the South Coast, it'd be a fish of maybe 2lb plus. Definitely not a sub-species or variety, just another name shift like codling to cod, strap to conger or schoolie/chequer to bass.
