| new passage, 31st oct. as now reunited with my own fishing gear i went fer a fish on the spur of the moment. and ended up back here, but in darkness.  high tide was for about midnight or 0100. arrived at 2300 , no water yet! went fer a walkabout b4 starting to fish at about midnight. tide ;- was nearer 0100. neap approx 9.8m weather;- clear moonlit night , wind northerly & bloody cold. water, wet, flat calm, as usual looked like oxtail soup. bait;- squid n lug. rigs;- pulleys, 1, 3/0 single hook. t'other 1/0 pennel. fished baits at all ranges looking for bites , found none till h/w approached when i had a wee pouty nibble but missed it,  no cigar, all quiet till the tide turned then i missed a good take, i then thought the ebb might fish well , but no more bites till i run out of water. ah well, a nice couple of hours learning how to fish the channel i thought. but i saw it was now 0500 as i returned to the car . must have had fun, the time certainally flew.  still learning these venues, the bigger tide next weekend should be better. __________________ 2008, sessions..26, total blanks..3 species,..20 its easier for a man to destroy the light within himself than to defeat the darkness all around him.     |
