Talking Fed-up with it all!!!!

Went to Teignmouth this morning for a Bass or two.

After the strong easterly for the last few days I knew the sea would be cloudy and what with the highest tides of the year, I knew the tide race through the river entrance and conditions would be ideal.

Indeed the conditions were spot on. What I hadn’t reckoned on was the amount of weed I experienced once I started fishing. Top this with one of my rods being damaged thanks to one of the little ones (discovered when setting up) the mornings session went of one of hope to one of a ba**s up.

Needless to say my trip and hopes of a Bass had all but diminished.

It’s been hard this year for me to enjoy my fishing. The hopes of fishing the high tides throughout the year have nearly all been dashed with few/no fish being caught.

Anyway, I hope the rest of you who have fished today have something better to report than I have. I’m now off to kick the cat, slap the wife and strangle the kids.

Cheers.

Kiwi. Not!!

Re: Fed-up with it all!!!!

sorry to hear it was a bad day

but mate, be nice to the wife, she gives the fishing passes

the cat may be useful to steal food from for bait

and the small humans that damage rods are best for bait!!

new tides bring new luck

Cheers

Mike

Re: Fed-up with it all!!!!

So true guys.

As for the freshwater fishing, I must admit that on the few occasions I have been I have never blanked. Fished Decoy Lake down here last year and had a nice Tench of 3 to 4lb.

MMMmmmm me thinks I need to change. Seems a shame what with all this saline around us down here! Learning to fluff chuck is my goal but need to be taught how to cast and I don’t wanna try first then get into any bad habits that then need to be broken.

Kiwi.

Re: Fed-up with it all!!!!

Chin up Marty, I'm sure you'll get your mojo back. I've had a tough year for fishing too, mainly due to the lack of time I have. I've always found sea fishing to be either extremely rewarding or downright infuriating. Theres no middle ground. However, sitting on the beach and listening to the waves crash on the shore is probably one of the most uplifting things in life and thats what keeps me coming back (time permitting )
