Thumbs up Welly, Kiwi, and Smallfry...Do Sharkham!

As Welly was due back at work early Tuesday morning, the three of us decided on a small trip out fishing instead of going for the long haul round the coast to meet up with Pingu.

We decided to fish Sharkham Point arriving at about 3pm.

Armed with Dexter Wedge and an assortment of Rapala and the like, we started fishing in earnest. For the first couple of hours up to high tide (5.30pm) nothing was caught, but then things changed. Kev (Welly) caught a lovely Bass weighing about a 1lb, to the Dexter, which was duly returned.

The Macks then came on the feed and we had some nice sport catching this summer favourite along with Garfish skipping about on the surface.

Michael my son (Smallfry) enjoyed the fishing, as this marked the end of a run of blank sessions for him.

Other catches included some small Pollock...Oh and Kev landed a lesser spotted Carp rod and fixed spool reel, but that’s another story!!!

Kiwi.

Re: Welly, Kiwi, and Smallfry...Do Sharkham!

Hi Dan,

Its taken a while for the Bass to show along this neck of the woods other than the small ones. Other areas near by like the river Teign have been on for a while but im not sure of the sizes.

The Macks on the whole have been small of late with not many showing. Fished the Brixham Breakwater with the lad last Wednesday along with around another hundred anglers and caught nothing. We only saw one other Mack caught. Sporadic to say the least.

The Pollock caught were between a couple of inches long to around a lb in weight all being returned.

Nice to hear from you Dan. Hows your sea angling doing?

Kiwi.

Is that the same species as the common Nil Desperandum fish Baggie?

Sounds like you had a good time Kiwi. Intrigued about the Carp rod story though.....
