Welcome to the Forum Fishingfriends. Not fished Plymouth for years so can't give much advice on the area, although I sure there's someone on the forum who can help. Re bait for bass, I think that the general theme found on this forum is think big baits for big fish. A whole mackerel head complete with guts & fished in close is a favourite. Too many people try to cast too far out for Bass. It's usually best to fish after dark & after a good blow. Spinning with a Rapala plug or Dexter type wedge lure can be fun too. Good luck.

Re: Help needed

welcome fishing friends

i know a guy who fishes your area and he has great results fishing 10-15ft deep with a small bubble float and live sandeels!

personally i would say find yourself somewhere that you can net some prawns hook them on 3 segments from the tail and float fish them 10-15ft deep if there is a bass there he wont refuse a live clicky prawn!

as for were he fishes im unsure but i will do a bit of research for you and see what i can find out...mount batten pier?/breakwater seems to ring bells though!
