| Erme Estuary - bait collecting & fishing Emma & I are going down for a weekend break at the Mildmay Colours Inn at Holberton next weekend. We'll be staying Saturday night there but intend leaving early enough to get to the Salcombe area for about 8.00 am. We're going to have a reccie first and then intend doing some bait collecting (got a push-net, bait fork and loads of enthusiasm), then maybe an afternoon session, followed by a night session. Catch a few ZZZZZZs before finishing off with an early morning session and hopefully more bait collecting, before setting off back home (to Wincanton, Somerset) to catch the World Cup Final. Any suggestions of where to find suitable baits and venues to fish would all be appreciated. |

We'll be back down South Devon way in September because I won a two night stay at a B&B on Start Bay and by the looks of things, we could fish from our bedroom We went car-booting today and apart from picking up a few fishing-related bargains such as a large box of shads & lures, we also got talking to a couple who are emigrating from the UK and have a 1979 VW Microbus with Devon Coachworks conversion that sleeps up to 6. It looks suspiciously like this winter's project will be the anglingmobile. |
