| The winter in June ! Arrived down in Exmouth yesterday for 8. 00am for a days boating with the old man - grabbed a load of live sandeel and off we went on the water taxi. You could tell what the day was going to be like, when half way across the estuary I checked with the old man only to find the boat keys were still in the car !!  Well we soon grabbed them and headed off out to sea and straight off to a wreck some 10 miles out - a cracking few waves right over the bow but bloody good fun getting out there. Chucked a few lines down over the wreck all to no avail as the other boat out there packed up and chugged off inland. Visibility was dia and only by the GPS did we know where we were going. Headed back into a close in shore wreck and anchored over it for the rest of the day - total catch 4 small pollack, six makeral and no congers !! We got absolutely soaked and the seas were a fair swell but we had plenty of fun and its better than work !! Headed back in hi in spirits just enjoying being out and crashing around - had a good chat with the water taxi who made us feel much better - 3 charter boats went out upto 60 miles and only 1 landed a couple of bass !!  A great day but bugger was it freezing out there - roll on the better weather again !! Next trip we are after the conger so I can get in the conger club so a days conger bonking is on the cards !! __________________ So near yet so far - Wembley 2008 - Zideered Right Up !     |
