bristol channel 27/02/06

fished ladye bay monday,h/w 1850hrs conditions were good with a westerly wind veering north westerly,tide run was very strong (12.9m)held bottom with long tail gemini's except for when the weed built up on the line(fair bit floating around)first fish 2lb14oz codling an hour before h/w then a very good bite on h/w,struck into a sizeable fish only to lose it a minute later,on retreiving the rig found a 5inch codling on the top hook of the pennel and the bottom hook almost covered by the lump of squid bait,chances are the smaller codling was taken by a larger one which i failed to hook properly!
well that's fishing eh!!!

Nice to hear the cod are still being taken from the shore and makes you wonder how big the other one was
