Question Ladye Bay - Friday 17th Feb

Am thinking of fishing Ladye Bay this Friday with a mate, bit of a treck from deepest Hampshire, but hey why not?

Problem is . . .

all i know about Ladye Bay is what i've managed to read in the forum plus a bit off the web, can anyone tell me where to head when we get there for a fish, and what we might expect to see, get my bearings etc.

All help will be much appreciated.

Thanks, Tony

Re: Ladye Bay - Friday 17th Feb

I only go that far if I'm going on me hols!

Thanks for the offer but Bristol is only a couple of hours away, Slapton is at least 3. Will just have to fish me own competition - the one for bragging rights on the drive home.

lol ok it was just a thought hundred quid for a doggy seems a good deal to me.. and with fishing as slow as i experienced tonight i bet it will be a single dog that decides it!

Re: Ladye Bay - Friday 17th Feb

have fished Ladye bay a bit.....access is easy -just a longish walk along the cliff path from the clevedon end. Drop down onto the ledges after the path straightens out. You can fish over high water from the rock ledges or drop down onto the sand to fish over low water. You'll need fast retrieve reels here to crank the fish over the rocks at high water. There are better marks on the Bristol Channel. Check out the Veals Mail Order website for more info.
Hope this helps

Devondave, cheers for the plug mate; does that mean you're planning on having a go?????

I have infact ordered fish to be delivered from other shores, along with good weather and beer and dancing girls for the after match weigh-in!!!!

Hope to see you there.

Re: Ladye Bay - Friday 17th Feb

there are better mark's,but few offer such deep water over the high tide, although on the largest tides holding bottom is a bit like portishead, virtually impossible, and when the tides starts out it's the same!
good luck for friday and mind your footing,it can be hazardous.

Question Re: Ladye Bay - Friday 17th Feb

Viper,

cheers for the info.

I'm planning to fish with pulley/pennels (3/0 and 2/0) with decent sized lug/suid baits (am taking some rag/mackie as well). I've set them up for rotten bottom and am going to up my mainline to about 30lb.

What do you reckon?

Cheers, Tony
