Babbacombe pier

I am not sure if this the right place to post thisso any mods please move if required!!??

http://www.babbacombebeach.com/webcam.php

Just a handy little link if you were thinking of fishing on Babbacombe pier - you can check how busy it is (day and night) by checking the diving hut web cam which points directly at the pier - it refreshes every 15 seconds i think and at night you can normally make out the little dots of light from peoples lamps.
You need java on your comp to view it - if you dont have that just go to the sun/java website and down load for free.

if this has been posted before - sorry and feel free to delete!

cheers
charlie

Re: Babbacombe pier

oh what a handy little link.. shame it hasnt got a zoom i could see what that guy on the end is catching!

i dont fish that pier because of the size of it... and all the fighting but its certainly handy to see who's fishing!

And the "fighting" Dave? Has the peir got a problem with yobs then? Or do you mean fighting for position on the small peir?

Rich.

Re: Babbacombe pier

oh yea they fight for positions and the more mature anglers down there (the old farts) i was trying to be polite but cant...

they think they own the damn place and start cutting lines and allsorts ive even known of some being thrown into the water!all so they can fish on an excuse for a pier with a big puddle at the end that sits there 10 months of the year gathering bits of fishing line and rubbish left by those who think they own the place! ... not for me

Re: Babbacombe pier

Good grief... I can't imagine anyone wanting to fish a mark so badly that they'd resort to cutting lines to do so...

Note to self, avoid Babbacombe peir. I can blank on the vast expanses of Budliegh beach just as well as any peir you can show me.....

Rich.

Re: Babbacombe pier

sorry guys - i thought it a useful link to avoid such problems!

I have fished it on quite a few occasions and normally find that the prats soon go an hour or so after sun down! I know what you mean by some of the 'old farts' but on the whole quite a few of the guys that use to fish the mark at the same time as me were fine - all down to timing i suppose!
Im sorry you have had bad experiences there!
And I must ad that it is one mark where i have NEVER blanked (which for me is nothing short of a miracle!!)

Just my views and nothing personel!

cheers
pete

Re: Babbacombe pier

oh pete dont get me wrong it does fish well (in my opinion no better than oddicome beach)

and sometimes you do meet friendly ppl there and other times you can get the pier to yourself but for me...(who has to walk up that hill after) it just isnt worth going down thereas a rule i do like the pier but its just a shame that the idiots tend to go down there
