beach league next week

hello all just wondering if many of you fellow fisher men and women are fishing the comp at slapton next week ,i am looking forward to it ,will be my first comp so something new for me ,does anybody know what is being caught at slapton at the mo ,hope to see you all next week i will be the one cooking bacon and sausage sandwichs won,t miss me lol,good luck to all and tight lines

From the response I've received there should be a decent bunch of lads on the beach, some well known names and some not so, but all very, very welcome!!

Did the wyvern comp on sunday @ beesands, there was 3 fish weighed in between 180 anglers! dont let this put you off though as the weather was appalling, i was only holding with 7oz of lead, it was hard work.

Slight mistake there .......... 118 fished, 18 weighed in.

Dave Chidzoy won with, I think, a small whiting and a small pollack.

The weather was rough to say the least.

I managed 11th with a whiting of 0.695 pounds. Why don't they use proper scales?????

PS..... The weather forcast is much better for this coming Friday. Lighter winds, and from behing us, so we'll all be able to reach the water when we cast!!!

Slight mistake! that was what a matye told me, i had a breakout on a rock in the surf, so i left @ 5 to have a clear road back.
That wind did reduce some distance!! the guy next to me kept having his rigs wshed up on the beach.

Do you have any idea of roughly how many will be fishing the leage?

Hard to say until the first match, but I've had loads of 'phone calls and e-mails from anglers saying they're planning on fishing it. Let's hope there's enough fish around to keep everyone happy!!

There should be, this may sound a stupid question but how is each match won? as i cant find it in the info, is it heaviest bag or best of 2 species etc?
