| Me Tommy and his old man Steve Went down to Ladye Bay last night, lovely conditions (A slight wind Clear Skies) Arrived 2hrs before high water found our spot and Set up. Steve Scored first with the smallest pout Whiting Ive ever seen hooked, Even he didn't know it was there when he brought it in, all he had was a bundle of seaweed covering his hook and once he had cleared that to his suprise there it was! A few jokes were made and the fish returned! It went Quite for 30mins Then my first bite of the night, Two thumps on the tip made me hastley find somewhere to but me lager down. Picked the rod up one more thump and struck in to it (this is where I usually get it wrong and miss the thing). but it was still there. A few minutes and a good fight later and my first Cod of the season. 6lb!! Not a bad start. ![]() That was it for Cod for the night but Tommy and I both caught 1 more whiting each before the tide and weed got to much. A great first Cod Night of the season! One thing about the Cod if you can see in the picture its Tail was diseased has anyone else seen it on the Cod in the channel before? __________________ Shads Last edited by Fishing Forum Admin; 10-05-2005 at 12:52 PM. |

| Re: Cod at Ladye Bay Well done Shaders - but Im sure that cod jumped from my rod to yours !!!! Not sure about the disease bit but there was one like that last year which is a bit of a worry - might have been tempted to keep the bugger otherwise.... Anyway one bit you forgot to add - you let the fish go and even though it was slightly diseased at one end it would have been tempting to keep it. I think letting her go to fight another day is top marks mate and certainly made me feel good - and it wasnt even my fish !!! A flypin excellent night and hopefully a good sign of things to come ....... ![]() __________________ So near yet so far - Wembley 2008 - Zideered Right Up ! |
