Re: Slapton sands

right well we have a decent tide and the forecast is northwest 4-5 dropping force 3 and variable then backing southwest 3 overnight...

if the wind stays northwest although breezy it will be off our backs so it shouldnt hamper the fishing

im not sure what time tj is arriving but i hope to be there around 4pm we will be fishing in the area of the tank (last time i went in the afternoon i had to walk 200 yards towards the center of the beach to avoid all the sunbathing tourists!)

so if anyone fancy's popping down your more than welcome hopefully we will catch a fish or two aswell!

Re: Slapton sands

It's a huge beach in between Dartmouth and Kingsbridge in South Devon. A long, straight and steeply shelving pebbly beach. The tank memorial that Dave mentions is a monument to a load of Americans who got killed there reherasing for D-Day when they were ambushed by E boats, they were using the beach as it was the closest they could get to the beach they were due to assault (not sure which one, possinly Omaha).
