| Preston Beach, Paignton Off out tonight on an overnighter to see what's around. Preston beach is a wide, predominently sandy beach with a rocky outcrop at the northern end and a very small headland at the southern end. We've had some very windy weather down here for the last few days with a bitterly cold easterly blowing onshore across Lyme Bay but today is calm so feeding conditions, should, be absolutely perfect! High water is at about half eleven tonight so I shall be there at around half nine(ish) to get set up for what might be a successful trip out... I'll let you all know how it goes tomorrow! __________________ 2012 species: Whiting, LS Dogfish, Grey Mullet, Mackerel |

| Re: Preston Beach, Paignton Well.... We got to Preston at around 10pm although, thinking about it, maybe we should've got there an hour or so before we did and allowed more time to set up and start fishing the tide in a little earlier. Although the weather appeared still and calm and it was a beautifully clear night, there was a considerable surf rolling in... This was a surprise! All three of us had some cracking bites so there were definately fish feeding although none were successfully hooked.... We packed up and left at 3.30am as the tide was receding so quickly that we were almost jogging to keep up with it! All in all, a great night out even if nothing was caught.
