 Catch report Avonmouth hi guys, went under the avonmouth bridge this evening for the down tide just to use up my last £3 worth of rag and my 2 left over squid. wind was just right tide was 12:20 high so all good there. was really slow for the first hour and half,, thought i was gonna blank like i have for the last 2 months. had 2 rods out and on my last re bait thought id put everything i had left on my hooks. did the first rod cast out brought my second rod in for its final bait up and cast (ding ding or wot ever bells go) waited for the second........... nothing so carryed on baiting up...(ding) then it all went quiet, the waves seamed to quiet down, the wind stopped, my hand on the rod waiting for that tap tap tap for me to strike... nothing. OK then finished baiting up my other rod, casted out and thought id check to see if my baits been touched as i was bringing it in i felt the slightest little pull, Big smile on my face now as i reel in i aint hooked a fish for over 2 months, lifting my rod out the water out came a whiting weighing just over 1lb 1/4.
