| The Knap & Penarth Pier Hi All Went to The Knap and Penarth Pier yesterday with my mate. We got there at high tide. Fished 4 hours down tide at the Knap. The Knap is just west of Barry Island. Pebbly beach, rough ground. If you wait till low tide, you can retrieve any lost tackle. I caught a cod and my mate blanked. Large free carpark at the top of the beach and with toilets. We then went around to penarth Pier on low tide. This is not a low tide mark. We fished it for 1.5 hrs till the pier closed at 5 (9 in summer) I imaagine this is a very good mark on high water. No cost at all for the pier. We then went for a walk along the barrage at Cardiff and found another couple of good high water marks. Along day but a good day out. Weather was windy and slightly cold if you did not wrap up. No rain or snow. I know the area is not in the South west but I thought I would share these remarks for future outings. Well worth the effort. Regards CodHead ![]() __________________ Contemplate whilst fishing is easy |
