Rock mark yesterday

Fished a rock mark in the mid BC yesterday 4 up 2 back. It was very slow going with only 2 small whiting to Garys rods until we got to high water when my rod at distance gave one hell of a nod, straightened up and banged down even harder. I hit the bite and the pull back from the fish was far greater than anything I've had from a cod previously, I started to pump and winch the fish up in the water and it continued to pull back but only for a few seconds..... bloody hook pulls!
I could barely believe what had just happened after 4 hours of nothing. 2minutes later Gary was into a good fish which after a few heart stopping moments when it tried to dive into the rocks at our feet I was able to pull from the sea, happy days! The codling weighed in at 5 1/2lb and was returned, one of Garys rituals, being the first cod of the new run.

Roll on the frosts I say when there will be good numbers of fish in attendance

Nice one, Thats a good sized codling.
