Re: Bristol Channel Wrom Drowners

Drowned a few this mornings but they didn't mind as they were ready salted!!
No fish though but damned plenty of fresh air!!

Better than working anyhow.

Re: Bristol Channel Wrom Drowners

I went under the bridge first then onto Severn Beach itself. Weed was a right pain today.

Was far to windy really but I just got the itch to have a dangle!

See you had a allnighter on Portishead Pier the other day.

Re: Bristol Channel Wrom Drowners

I would expect a lot of weed over the next three or four days after the storms in the Atlantic. Fishing should pick up over the next day or two, going on experience from last time there was a strong south westerly.

It was a good night down the jetty at Portishead. Got there about 10 and left about 6. Nice and peacefull and the water was like a mill pond and a very slight breeze. Didn't even need my coat. Bit quiet on the fish front though. Apart from one bite for me and the Conger for Sully.

I will be trying to get a good fishing session going in the next four to five days. With the tides as they are at the minute, might look for an all night session again and get two high tides in. Portishead is the only place I know where you can do this. Unless you know different?

Re: Bristol Channel Wrom Drowners

This weekend is a no-no as I am off on the lash with work colleagues. Do not expect that I will be any state to go fishing next day. Possibly Tuesday night. High tide being 01.30am at around 08.30m.

Re: Bristol Channel Wrom Drowners

Remember the last tide that was low at the tanks. On the day it lashed it down.
8.3m would be ok for Portishead.

what would it be like at Severn Beach?

Re: Bristol Channel Wrom Drowners

Severn Beach just gives you about max 2 hours fishing. No point.

Re: Bristol Channel Wrom Drowners

If you let me know when you can have an all night session. I will arrange it for Sully and I to go along, preferably Portishead. I can drive if you want picking up from somewhere if you want to leave you car. Parking there can sometimes be at a premium.

I will look for some decent tide times and heights that will not affect us on the jetty.
