Plugging on the north coast! Went for a drive up the coast a bit and picked a nice deep kelpy mark to chuck out a few plugs/spinners this evening.Started off very poor with not even a take on any lure, gave it an hour or so but no luck so moved inside a bit to the shallower reefs with less sidewind too. Decided to try the lucky craft sammy on top and 1st chuck a small pollack came out the water and completely missed the lure. Next cast same thing again still no hook up, 3rd cast there was a big splash/swirl behind the lure and nothing again. 2 mins later 2 seals turn up right in front of me so i decided to sit down and have a break then 2 more turn up, must have been attracted by the splashing i reckon. Stopped fishing for a bit and took some pics, think they got bored after a bit a done one Great! try again and 1st chuck another pollack clears the water taking the sammy with it, not a big fish but very welcome. Few more chucks and it just seemed to come alive with pollack best 2lbish took a couple of pics and then decided to concentrate on the fishing and it just went mad as the sun was dropping, never seen an acrobatic display like it by so many pollack on one cast 2 fish came out the water at the same time. The biggest fish to clear the water must have been upwards of 4lb, what an awsome sight and me there on my own with nobody to share this amazing sight with or try and get a few pics as most of the fish were no more than 30ft from the rocks. I can honestly say in all my fishing years i,v never seen anything like it, think i,l be giving that mark another go very soon. My sammy took a bit of a beating but well worth it ![]() __________________ Steve 2012 Species:Bass,Huss,SS Sea Scorpion,3B/Shore Rockling,Launce,Mackerel,Sand Goby,Sand Smelt,Pollack, Coalie,Conger

Re: Plugging on the north coast! Well pleased with that mark Baz, was gonna have another go later today but the wind has picked up quite a bit so i,l wait til tomorrow. Think i,l take a few more topwater lures as it's the only thing they seemed interested in. I have seen pollack come out the water before for lures but that was like a mad feeding frenzy. __________________ Steve 2012 Species:Bass,Huss,SS Sea Scorpion,3B/Shore Rockling,Launce,Mackerel,Sand Goby,Sand Smelt,Pollack, Coalie,Conger

Re: Plugging on the north coast! Good luck mate! I went out for a couple of hours earlier to another rock mark at the side of the local beach but the seals were a complete pain. I could see bass following the lure then the seals would steam in to try and grab them. Gave up in the end they were just non stop even chasing the lures. Cant win em all, hoping the swell will drop overnight and try the pollack mark again. __________________ Steve 2012 Species:Bass,Huss,SS Sea Scorpion,3B/Shore Rockling,Launce,Mackerel,Sand Goby,Sand Smelt,Pollack, Coalie,Conger

Re: Plugging on the north coast! Last night was awesome Rob just wish there was someone else to witness it. Fishing topwater lures is the best (imo) caught bigger pollack but that was a buzz watching them clear the water. __________________ Steve 2012 Species:Bass,Huss,SS Sea Scorpion,3B/Shore Rockling,Launce,Mackerel,Sand Goby,Sand Smelt,Pollack, Coalie,Conger
