| Lower Bristol Channel 17/08/11 Gary and I fished the lower end of the BC last night in search of sole and we wern't disapointed! Fished 2.5 up and 1.5 back. Gary had a bite almost immediately which he missed and shortly after I took a sole of about a pound. Gary had his turn over high water and I took another same size as the first 30 minutes into the ebb. Off down the tanks tonight, to the right of the tanks. high at 23:18 so nice and early to get set up. Anyone else up for it apart from Mr Fish Fingers himself "Sully2010". | Re: Lower Bristol Channel 17/08/11 Let us know how you got on last night, Nigel. I,m off down there tonight. Targeting Sole. Been reading up on rigs. Strange as so much different info.. Ranges from using 1/0 to 6/0 whereby the last seems a bit over the top. What size baits do you use down there as again so many different tips. Some seem to use massive baits with only fresh lug and rag, others use stinking rotting mackeral? |

| Re: Lower Bristol Channel 17/08/11 Well I was using a two hook flapper set up with the bottom snood hanging below the lead, the hooks were sise 4 kamasan match and size 3 saltwater champions baited with lug or rag tipped with black lug. I also had 2 AAA shot pinched on to the snood to help keep the bait pinned down.
