16/17 August- Mousehole/Perranuthnoe

Hi guys
Had a couple evening sessions into the dark, 1st night 16th Aug at a rock mark near Mousehole we managed to catch a few species- shore rockling, pollack, silver eel, wrasse, plaice and the smallest blenny i ever seen caught on a hook at least 2 inches long lol!.
Nothing big caught but a nice easy sesh with not to far to walk/climb for a change. It was one of those nice calm evenings where you see every tap on the rod a real pleasure just to be out.

2nd night 17th Aug we decided on a mark east of Perranuthnoe, a bit more of a walk along the coastpath but an even better evening catching last of the days sunshine.
Got down to the mark and put one in the bottom for the usual rough ground species and one float rod to have a few chucks before dark. Nothing much moving on the bottom to start but had a few pollack/mackie on the float.
I had the 1st fish out the rough just as the sun was dipping which gave a cracking bite and kept running after a nice wee fight a very 4lb bullhuss came to the surface, i really thought it was bigger the way he was going.
My mate had a few more pollack fishing close in on the bottom followed by another shore rockling.
Into the dark and it was my turn next to get another lively bite which turned out to be a well conditioned conger of 8.5lb.
Last cast of the night due to work the next day and another species for my mate a cracking coloured TB rockling.
All in all a brilliant and very relaxing 2 sessions.
Sorry guys never took any pics since it was mostly smaller fish but did take this one of St Michaels Mount as the sun was going down.
Think i make that 10 species in 2 sessions

Lovely job Steve -family are down from next Weds but due to work i'm staying here but will no doubt have the pleasure of your company in the near future ..
I've never had a conger from the shore and aint really clued up on the marks other than rinsey and perranuthnoe ..
Sometimes the variety is just as good as a whopper - i think it takes more skill
well done mate

Thanks Rob, wonderful part of the country here to sit on the rocks with a bait in the water watching the sun go down.
Another cracking day here and really wanted to get out again but got a build up of stinky fishing gear needing sorted before my next sesh lol!

Cheers Steve, was a very enjoyable 2 sessions. Congers have been a bit scarce this year but still managed a few. My PB is just over 22lb think it,s in my fishin pics weighed photographed and released.
Sure we,l catch up at some point.
I got visitors coming down for a week tomorrow but they know my fishing is top priority at this time of year so i,l see them on the rainy days lol!

Re: 16/17 August- Mousehole/Perranuthnoe

We did have a good variety of bait which helped on the species count-rag,lug,sandeel,squid,mackie and frozen uncooked prawns.
Itching to get back out there again
