boat trip torquay just come back from another boat trip with kevin tate's anne clare out of torquay. we had a great day with plenty of fish. unfortunately nothing of size. plenty of pollack some cod, whiting, loads of pout of course. the only disopointment was a lack of conger our main quarry. only one eel of approx 15lb was hauled up from the depths. the main reason for the lack of eels seemed to be the robbing of bait by small fish as soon as it hit bottom. baits needed changing regular as only empty hooks or heads were brought up. even the pout baits were attacked. never the less another enjoyable trip with lots of action, sindwinders being the killing lures in rhubarb and custard and blue and white varieties. ![]()

Re: boat trip torquay Sounds like you had a busy day afloat ![]() I take it you were drifting for the pollack and then getting the anchor out for the eels over slack ? We get some monster cod on Pirks this time of year but only seem to find the bigger pollack on the better tides ! Theres a 3 day conger comp in Weymouth coming up and i thought about it as a birthday present to myself but tbh i think once you've caught one the novelty wears off ![]() were the whiting of any size ? i had one off the quay last week and was shocked to see the damn thing !! __________________ Shore Species 2012: Dab-Flounder-Herring-L.S.Dogfish-Pouting-Shore Rockling-5 Bearded Rockling-Small Eyed Ray-Turbot-Whiting

Re: boat trip torquay yes we drifted for the cod and pollack and anchored during slack tide. The whiting were up to two pounds but long and slim, nice eating size. Not the best tide really but it was non stop action on board.
