| boat trip from torquay Yesturday i went on a cod fishing trip aboard Kevin Tates boat Anne Clare out of Torquay. As usual kevin was in fine spirits and a jovial mood. We set sail just after 7am and travel approx 27 miles to the mid channel wrecks. first drop and i was into a cod approx 5lb winning me the first fish bet with my party. although the day proved a little slow i ended up with 3 cod and 3 pollack plus a hoard of pout. all fish were stuffed to the gunnels with sprats possibly explaining our poorish catch rate. Top lure seemed to be rhubarb and custard sindwinders with some lovely fish falling for shads as well. Some of the party had been out the day before and the boat had over 130 fish, our trip had over 50. As usual we had several cups of tea and coffee and a sausage sarnie compliments of kevin and crew. All in all a good day, i cant wait till the next trip. ![]() |

| Re: boat trip from torquay good report mate , it's a bugger when the fish are gorging on the sprats and it usually means they wont go for artificials - the pollack usually still do but they are more predatory and would chase their shadow if they had one ![]() wouldnt fancy being out this week lol ! __________________ Shore Species 2012: Dab-Flounder-Herring-L.S.Dogfish-Pouting-Shore Rockling-5 Bearded Rockling-Small Eyed Ray-Turbot-Whiting |
