Ilfracombe Devon - Capstone 01/05/2011 I used to fish here when I was much younger with my Dad and brother and as my Dad has given me a lot of the old gear I thought I would do some fishing again. Decided to go with a float setup as was unsure what the bottom was like and Variety Sports shop nearby stated that there was a sandy section but it was 60 - 70 yards out. Used some Ammo frozen sand eels and went 2 hours before high tide. Caught 2 garfish in total but had loads of bites especially around high tide.

Re: Ilfracombe Devon - Capstone 01/05/2011 good effort ! i expect there were plenty mackerel and pollack around your float too .. try thin slivers of mackerel or rag and you should get a good mixed bag ![]() welcome __________________ Shore Species 2012: Dab-Flounder-Herring-L.S.Dogfish-Pouting-Shore Rockling-5 Bearded Rockling-Small Eyed Ray-Turbot-Whiting

Re: Ilfracombe Devon - Capstone 01/05/2011 Sounds good. Just need to repair my reel which gave up on me at the weekend. It is quite old but they do not make them like they used to!
