| Cod report!! Went out in the BC today with my mate Gary to have a go from his favourite rock mark , hoping for some codling. It was an overcast day with plenty of chop on the water which made it pretty much ideal. We started fishing about mid day, 1 rod each on rag/whole squid combos and 1 rod on rag/black lug combos. I was the first in with 2 missed bites and a 2lb cod that was deep hooked and because of which is now filleted and sitting in my freezer. Gary caught a couple of fish fingers and then I managed a 3lb fish followed by several more between 1lb and 3lb. I finished up with 9 fish, 3 of which came away with me and Gary had 5 or 6 and dropped a good 1 at his feet. All in all it was a very good day of enjoyable angling, lets hope that the codling hang around for a good while yet! Forgot to say that we dropped the squid and went onto straight worm or rag/black lug as that was bringing the most action.   __________________ Species so far for 2012 Pike,Chub,Roach,Ruffe,Mackeral,Plaice, LSD,Pout     |
