Axe Estuary

Fished from the end of Brean Down into the Axe Estuary (mon pm tide). First time of fishing this part of the Down and to be honest didnt know what to expect and to be even more honest I didnt expect a lot! It was a very small tide with little water movement and the temperature had dropped a few degrees too. I fished rag on "double runner" rigs which are supposed to be good scratching/flatty rigs. The bites came straight away suprisingly with my first flounder of the year followed by a couple of pin whiting and a dropped fish. The bites kept coming but were hard to hit and were probably from pin whiting.
Finished up with half a dozen fish and a strong inclination to return when the conditions are a little more favourable.
