| Monday Low Mudskipping on the BC Sadly the wife forced me to go fishing today lmao I had no work and was feeling a bit peeved with myself. For gods sake go fishing somewhere you are getting on my nerves she said. So eventually I dragged myself out of bed around 8.30 but then she went to work so it took me until around 9.30 to get myself together and actually go. "Where to go" was the question? I have not been for so long and it was a very small tide and low was around 11.30. Still not made up my mind I drove to Portishead to have a chat with Steve at Reel Fun and wandered into the cafe there for a bacon sarnie and a coffee( you see how keen I was to go). Steve told me they had been having a few just along the coast on the mud so after buying £10.00 of bloody giant farmed rag as this was all the live worm Steve had. Olivers were out and no lug as I hate that black slimy frozen shite. By now it was around 10ish so better get going or time to go home Having decided to fish a very secret slipway mark which was fine for my knackered legs and at low I knew with this tide I would not have to do much mudskipping. ![]() Tackled up and my first cast was at 11.00 at 11.06 I had this and had to go mud wading to set it free ![]() Then about 20 minutes went by and suddenly the rod keeled over and in came a treble shot don`t see many these days and the bottom one was well in size and weighed almost 3lb (a quick photo of the triple just to wind up the Snowman) and all three were soon back swimming A cup of coffee and change of bait plus a sharpish move up the shore as a bloody great car carrier sent a tsunami racing up the mud and kelp. The next little rattle produced a 5oz Codling and a 3inch Yting. Then chaos as the other rod had jumped off the rest (I had left the cups at home) as the rods were just balanced on the spare rig hooks I have fixed on the legs (look at the first pic) This arrived through the kelp just as the tide was creeping over the rocks ![]() Very pleasing sadly it had swallowed the 3/0 right into it`s gut and was a gonner so home it went for tea. Shortly after this arrived looking like the others twin but luckily only lip hooked so off it went back into the murky depths ![]() Shortly after I ran out of bait so time to pack up Total 7 Codling with three nice ones and a small Yting A good relaxing couple of hours |

| Re: Monday Low Mudskipping on the BC Nice one. I agree with you about frozen blacks. Never caught anything on them, just a waste of money. __________________ Check my blog for a daily fishing forecast from Weymouth, Portland, Chesil Beach & Kimmeridge Bay. www.fishingtails.co.uk |
