Re: BC tomorrow Well here's the counterpart to the previous posting: We blanked lol. It was probably the lowest temperature that I'd ever fished in, there was no wind until near the top of the tide and thus very little water movement. We couldnt get any fresh bait so had to rely on frozen blacks and unwashed squid. Gary fished 1 on a pennel pulley and the other was fished with a flapper looking for whiting but only produced tentative tugs from what we believed to be green eels. Both of my rods went out on pennels. I had a big drop back that I missed and Gary lost a goodish fish which we believe, due to the bite,to be a codling and it put a nice bend in the blank too. That apart from a couple more knocks was it really and it was the first time that we had blanked at that venue but then again we did have some action in what were far from ideal conditions so we wont moan tooooooo much! Looking forward to the next sesh now that I've thawed out! Tight lines! __________________ Species so far for 2012 Pike,Chub,Roach,Ruffe,Mackeral,Plaice, LSD,Pout

Re: BC tomorrow Do you guys reckon it's worth while going to severn beach on Sunday. Have spent too many hours on the cold with no bites. Last sunday was -7 and foggy at 5 in the morning. My missus thinks I ,m mad. I have heard only sprats and small fry swimming around. What are your thoughts??

Re: BC tomorrow Didgeman, I fished Severn beach this morning (Thurs) on squid and lug and blanked without a sniff. Could only manage to fish an hour either side of high tide. Very, very cold. P.S. If going from the rocks be extremely careful as they are coated with a thin layer of frosty ice which nearly had me a couple of times - not good when you're solo. __________________ 2012: None Lifetime: Codling, Grey Gurnard, Mackerel, Pollock, Pouting, Wrasse, Scad.

Re: BC tomorrow I reckon the tide would be too small for Severn Beach on sunday so it might be worth looking here www.veals.co.uk and checking out the "venues" section which should tell you what tide is best for that location. __________________ Species so far for 2012 Pike,Chub,Roach,Ruffe,Mackeral,Plaice, LSD,Pout
