| ME!!!!! well I was 50/50 about heading out last night, Somehow this going Solo didnt feel right, But with the Mrs with a head full of cold and the words" what time were you going out then?" still ringing in my ears I was out the house a bit late 7,30ish wind was hitting the front of house quite hard when left so was Southerly, so only armed with Squid and makkie frm freezer it was northbound to fish over the low on the BC , hopeing for first conger or Thornie of the year ![]() still with only 1/2 an idea where to fish I found myself looking at the beach at Burnham on sea , Stareing into a full on westerly at near galeforce , there was no way could fish thereso trundled on up channel ( know 1 place out of a westerly but i aint going over brean tonight ) so kept going until found myself at the yaught club at Portsished, loads of cars there, help did this mean there was something good happening or a match.. but after a quick rekkie it was the RNLI on a training, and i had the whole place to myself so by 9,30 with less than hour to low i was actually fishing ![]() fished simpley the end of the slipway, was still mega blowy but at least from left to right rather than straight on, used the bungies and seat box to hold tripod in place fished 1 rod double squid. 1 rod big mackeral baits , both 4/0 pulley pennels it was properly quiet and not much fun in the wind and misty wet either I managed to drag in my other gear once properly tangled , and then gained someones lost tackle , when eventually at 11ish the mackeral rod went down and stayed down struck and yes something was on, not huge but a fish a fishthought was a baby strap when bringing in as was on surface fro a good way out but ended up being a codling just over the 2lb mark ![]() , well stupidly that of course meant i fished on far too late for a school night, home 2.30ish and werent too chuffed by alarm at 6,45 and as ever was still amazed by the speed of the flooding waters there and cant believe i didnt actually lose any gear( now thers a first for up there) no more fish, and to add to the fun the rods went over into the mud though as packing up ( yuck) so 160 miles 1 fish ,got myself proper wet and was tired at work all day ![]() I guess i shall have to go back for the conger and thornie but staying local this evening for the bass and flounder in monthly comp ![]() ![]() dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives |
