| Blue Anchor 31st October 2010 Took boys there yesterday morning and only had some frozen squid, crabs and sprats for bait but though worth a go. Weather stayed reasonable for us and only a few very light showers. Set up all rods with pully rigs and size 3/0 big mouths and baited up with crab / squid Wraps and sprat / squid wraps. Twenty minutes into fishing had a huge slack line bite and picked up rod, wound in and tightened into a heavey beasty! Good scrap which lasted a fair while resulted in a conger well over 10lb. Boys delighted to see a conger and the job I had fighting it into the beach. Fish returned safetly and went away alright. Only one small pin whiting later in session. Sent the youngest boy to chat to other anglers and seemed only some small pin whiting showing to others. BIG COMPlAINT OF THE DAY!!!! loads of dog walkers down there and lost count of how many I saw them emptying out on the beach and had my rucksack piddled on several times by the dogs!!  I own a dog myself and would be horrified and very apologetic if he peed on strangers belongings. Some owners just didnt seem to care less and had to stop myself having a go at a couple! Oh well the conger and any fish in the doubles makes any day a good one!      |

| Re: Blue Anchor 31st October 2010 Some dog owners shouldn`t be.  It`s not just beaches ,canals, ponds, river banks, even parks with designated areasfor dogs, are plagued by despicable people. Glasgow Science Park recently had a sponsored dog walk, part of which was along the river bank, I was taking pictures of the walk, but these were responsible dog owners and I can honestly say, anything the dogs left , was cleaned up immediately . Pity all owners aren`t like that. That was a nice conger, so at least your whole day wasn`t spoiled,well done.Peter |
