Lower Lighthouse Fished Burnham on Sea this morning 3 up and 1 back down. Very slow going today with only a 1 pound plus cod and 3 skinny whiting to show for my tenners worth of worm! Fished rag, squid, black lug cocktails on a pennel pulley to take the cod and a bomber rig with worm squid tip to take the whiting. Very slow up and down the beach although the angler directly to my left took an 11lb tb ray at low water. Mud situation was good thankfully today fishing opposite Alandale road __________________ Species so far for 2012 Pike,Chub,Roach,Ruffe,Mackeral,Plaice, LSD,Pout

Re: Lower Lighthouse well rich and myself fished there last night really really hopeing for an eel drove up in torrential rain but amazingly stopped raining when we got to beach , and wind dropped spot on ![]() Tide was good, everything looked good i had geared up for the mud ![]() which was awfull infront of the light but better towards town and allendale road we were both blanking on the eel/thornie hunt ( 4/0 pennels, fresh mackeral/sandeel/crab/squid) so switched to smaller rigs and worm rich managed a coddling about 1-1 1/2 lb ![]() myself the most anorexic whiteing ever fished on till way too late for the amount of activity loseing faith in venue after my first excellant trip but no doubt will return __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives

Re: Lower Lighthouse It's a very "hit n miss" venue I must say but it does throw up some good fish. __________________ Species so far for 2012 Pike,Chub,Roach,Ruffe,Mackeral,Plaice, LSD,Pout

Re: Lower Lighthouse It was flipping hard work. I reckon the mud was an average of 6" deep in front of the light, which made walking to the water to cast tricky. Squid and crab baits went untouched, but as soon as the worm went on I got the codling. I have to say, dave's bin bag idea was genius. He got back to the car and ripped it off and it was instantly like the box had never even been on the beach. My car boot thanks you mate! ![]() It might be a while before we venture back to Burnham. It's not been very good to us on the last few visits and I think there are other marks we want to get to on the same sort of tides. That mud certainly doesn't help either. __________________ Right then, checklist: Rods. Check. Reels. Check. Speckled Hen. Check. Bait…… BAIT! Sh*t, where’s the bait?
