| Re: Bristol Channel Codding last ight well done smoothy ... just out of curiosity what were the crabs like? its just that i recalled from years back when chatting to the netsman down the harbour all the cod picked up in the nets had these small red/pink velvet swimmer type crabs inside them... i have never been able to find them along the shoreline but i think if i could locate a spot for them they would be a killer bait every cod i ever gutted on that net boat was always full of them! maybe because of the colour of them they are infant edible crabs? i dunno but the cod were always stuff with em so they have got to be a bait worth hunting for __________________ fishing for fish is not as simple as you may think! |

| Re: Bristol Channel Codding last ight i think i know the type you mean, the only time i have found them is when have gone to whitby and at a very low tide you walk out along the rocky shore as far as you can, this is where you find them, has to be a very low tide though crabs seem to live in stages along the shore front, green crab being near the shore and the the swimers, then edible 1s, then biger edible 1s and sometimes lobsters and the sea __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's |

I have tried Peeler for the Cod, but not had any success, but always get bites on frozen or fresh gutted black lug or yellow tails. Strange isn't it? |
