ling fishing from looe......new pb..(late report)

sorry its bit l8 but iv got a few reports. just been bit busy and bit lazy
going back to 2nd week in may i went to polperro and had booked a trip out with murry on the " the swallow"from looe with big ling been the target.
so i got to the boat for 6am and we set off to some wrecks 30 mile out. on the way we tryed for some mackerel but thay were thin on the ground and after half hour we had just enough to get us started.
1.5 hours later we got to the first wreck@ 22miles and tryed for some pollock while the tide was running.
the fish were slow but very good size, most been double figure. i had 3 , biggest 16lb.

after a couple of hours we moved out to the ling wreck @31 miles out.
ooohhh it was rough, with the sea kicking up to a good force 6 and a 25 foot swell from the east. murry but the sail up and sat the boat bow in to the snotty weather and we started on the ling . baited hokeyes been the order of the day.
i was first in with a nice little 8lber then i was in again no sooner had i hit the bottom again this time a touch bigger @12lb (new pb). to add insult to injury i was in again and balls started to turn a slight touch gold(i think i was the only one staying on the bottom). this one was 11lb. at last some of the others desided to join me and in came another one about 8lb.
then my rod hooped right over and stayed there....after a good long scrap up came the biggest ling of the day at 17lb (even newer pb)

the next hour stayed like this b4 we had enough of the big sea. i manged 8 ling, and was chuffed to bits.
we head back in to the first wreck to finsh on some pollock but it was to rough and we just carried on steaming .
best days ling fishing in my life with my pb been broken twice. i just wonder how good it would have been if the sea was kinder to us.
next trip down there in july .......bring it on
