| Re: north cornwall advice !! I used to live in Newquay ,there are loads of cracking rock marks for BIG Wrasse ...Towan head ,the headland to the left of Fistral beach.Float fish ,live hardbacks along the edge of the kelp fronds. If you take a walk along the Gannel estuary at low tide there are thousands of crab burrows in the banks ,so long as you dont mind getting covered in MUD ,half an hour and you have tonnes of fresh bait. Same marks produce Bass and pollock on lures too If your in to mountaineering ,there are somw cracking marks at the base of the cliffs at Perranporth, not fished very often(you need ropes to get down to the ledges ,but there are some whopping Wrasse waiting __________________ Mike.. | Re: north cornwall advice !! Check out the sandy surf beaches around Bude for bass. Sandymouth and Duckpool great for a bit of bassing just chuck some bait into the breakers. Often seen people spinning from the rocks at Sandymouth and is often talked about when bass are mentioned. All the surf beaches around North Cornwall have great bass and ray potential and is great fishing all Hartland and further on to North Devon. If you have a look on an ordanance survey map or check out the surf websites you can find good surf beaches they all have good chances for bass and ray. Magic seaweed is a great website to check when the surf is running and what the wind direction will be gives a comprehensive forcast for a week in advance and is great for planning your fishing. Clovelly can be stonking fishing but i think you have to pay to fish off the quay an the walk back can feel like the north face of the eiger and it can get crowded. You basically can go in any direction to find a huge variety of marks from stunning surf beaches to craggy rock marks. Happy fishing and welcome to the westcountry !! |
