| Exmouth Docks & Beach Just a little message to report on my frequent trips down to Exmouth Docks and Beach. I will post more updates as we go. First trip of the season last night for high tide at 10.20pm at Exmouth Docks. Was there for an hour before and an hour after fishing off a simple mackeral trace on a 3 oz weight. Caught about 20 pollock, 3 big ones which I've kept to eat. This morning (21st April) I hit the beach with a friend, there for an hour, nothing at all. Moved on to the docks just after high tide and still nothing. We had a wrass bite on a sand eel bated line but that fell off on the way to landing! We had a baited line left in, a crab line left in for fun, and a macky trace and a spinner on the go. Going up there tonight for some more fun where I expect the pollock will be out in the plenty again. Also going to Torquay to a small pier I discovered on the 2nd May. Me, my partner and my friend Ben. Probably going to set up two beach casters with flounder rigs on one, still undecided about the other and spin with another couple of rods. Tight Lines, Happy Fishing. __________________ - Steve |

| Re: Exmouth Docks & Beach Mingo - whats the sea state like up the estuary and out to sea mate ? Planning a trip on the boat tomorrow and the poxy winds have swung round to Easterly - probably going to brave getting out of the estuary and fish a few inshore wrecks but just wandered what its like at the moment ? | Re: Exmouth Docks & Beach The estuarys alright, fairly calm and normal but as you go out past the docks it still has its moments. At low and high tides its calm enough but still abit choppy in between. Wind comes in dribs and drabs, early this morning it was fairly windy, but calming down as the sun comes out. As always the tide is as strong as anything. Good luck with the fishing. __________________ - Steve |

| Re: Exmouth Docks & Beach Was about a mile off Exmouth and Dawlish yesterday on the kayak an no mackerel about. Asked a few passing boats and they had not had a sniff either. Tried for mackerel again yesterday evening at Exmouth dock just on the turn of the tide and drew a blank as did the other few guys there. Weather turned really cold and wet so didn't bother hanging around or changing bait. |
